Rebecca L. Clower | Owner Broker

Our founder, CEO, and lead broker at Blue Water Properties of Costa Rica, Rebecca Clower was born to a Costa Rican-USA bicultural, bilingual family in Chicago. She was raised in Buffalo, NY, and later graduated from Arizona State University. Rebecca is a dual citizen (Costa Rica & USA) and is fluent in Spanish, thanks both to her “Tica” (Costa Rican) mother’s influence and her own Spanish studies in Costa Rica before college.

After selling millions of dollars in real estate and enjoying a successful career as a real estate investor in Tampa, Florida, Rebecca – her friends and clients call her Becky – relocated to Costa Rica in 2006; here, she could be closer to her family while continuing to practice her love for real estate sales and investing. Becky worked as a successful agent with RE/MAX® in Costa Rica before founding Blue Water Properties of Costa Rica. From 2016-2019, she also owned the Keller Williams real estate franchise in Tamarindo and Flamingo. 

Becky and her family reside at Mar Vista in Playa Flamingo, Guanacaste. She is an active investor and real estate developer, having sold out her highly successful Mango Walk project – a 21-lot development in a gated community – in just five months. She is now developing two more projects: Punta Playa Heights, a 16-unit condominium development; and Plaza Mar Azul, a 12-unit commercial project in highly competitive Playa Flamingo.

Becky is the host of Purchasing in Paradise, a new reality TV show that follows BWP agents as they buy and sell some of Costa Rica’s most sought coastal properties. Over the years, she has also been featured on several episodes of HGTV USA’s House Hunters International, Beachfront Bargain Hunt, and Beach Around the World, as well as on episodes of HGTV Canada’s Live Here, Buy This. She also hosts several series on Blue Water Properties’ YouTube Channel.

Becky is a licensed realtor, the former President of CRGAR (Costa Rica Global Association of Realtors), a member of NAR (National Association of Realtors), a CIPS (Certified International Property Specialist), and an International Investor. Becky is a former Board Member of the La Paz Community School in Playa Flamingo, where her sons, Kian and Elijah, attend. Since 2006, she has consistently been one of the top brokers in Guanacaste, thanks to a great team of professionals who help her sell more while aiding clients in realizing their dreams!
